It's a Seafood Celebration: Seattle Great Wheel, Restaurants + Retail Open at Pier 57
As Seattle moves toward both more frequent patio weather and the next phase of Washington’s Safe Start plan, Pier 57 Miners Landing opens The Seattle Great Wheel and two of its restaurants. Carefully following new guidelines and safety precautions, The Crab Pot and Fisherman’s Restaurant & Bar welcome customers to enjoy classic, fresh seafood and the iconic sea feasts, house made chowder and more. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis and available inside at 50 percent capacity and on the waterfront patios with social distancing enforced. Menus include popular seasonal selections like Fresh Alaskan Halibut and Copper River Salmon, while classics like Penn Cove Mussels, Fish & Chips and house made chowders are served up in classic and chef-driven preparations.
“Strolling the Seattle waterfront is a classic Seattle staple for any local’s summer bucket list, and fresh seafood with a view of Puget Sound is no doubt something that many have missed while staying home,” says Michael Griffith, director of operations for Great Western Pacific Inc., who owns and operates Pier 57. “Our family feels incredibly fortunate and grateful to be able to once again open our doors to share the freshest seafood and classic waterfront views with the city.”
The Salmon Cooker’s open-air walkup window will continue to serve a full menu of fish tacos, smoked to order steelhead, halibut, Copper River Salmon and more available for ordering at the open-air takeaway window or online, while the Alaskan Sourdough Bakery provides a take-out option for sandwiches and baked goods made fresh daily. Providing gifts, toys and kitsch, Pirates Plunder is now open, adhering to the state’s guidelines for masking, sanitizing, and distancing. In addition, The Seattle Great Wheel is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., visitors will receive a private gondola to encourage social distancing.
Restaurants will operate under regular business hours: The Crab Pot, Fisherman’s Restaurant & Bar are open 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; The Alaskan Sourdough Bakery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cloth face coverings are required for entrance and for use while not seated at a dining table. Disposable masks are available for those in need. Pier 57 management works closely with its internal teams on detailed training procedures and is following public health and safety guidelines to ensure the safety of customers and employees.
