Meet Pioneer Square D&E

Seattle’s Pioneer Square D&E is ready for its close-up. This cozy neighborhood bistro is now open for dine in, patio seating and takeaway with a new menu and culinary team. Founded in fall 2018, D&E scaled back its menu throughout the past 16 months due to COVID restrictions. The restaurant now boasts a new menu featuring its creative, yet comforting, from scratch fare.

New Chef Anthony Tran guides the menu in collaboration with owner Jonathan Fleming. Known and celebrated for its mouthwatering fried chicken, customers will still enjoy these staples alongside new items like the Braised Short Rib with Potato Puree, five spice demi-glace; Summer Scallops with picked cherry tomatoes, zucchini vinaigrette and pea vines. Don’t miss the classic fried chicken sandwich or the Famous Fried Chicken Party Box for game days paired with from-scratch specialties like the house chili sauce and ginger beer.

Creative cocktails, along with a curated beer and wine list for an ideal spot for happy hour, date night, pre-game libations and more.

Jonathan, a veteran of the Seattle food industry, as well as the United States army, finds inspiration in the Pacific Northwest farmers markets as well as the flavors discovered through his military travels. He and wife Libby met while working in top restaurants around Seattle, ultimately dreaming up what became D&E.  The restaurant is currently open Tuesday – Friday, 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. and weekends, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. for brunch, lunch, dinner and everything in between. Happy Hour runs from 3 -6 p.m. with discounted fried chicken and small plates like the Crab & Shrimp Dip, D&E “Dirty Fries” or Cold Bavette Salad.  Breakfast is served on weekends until 3 p.m.  featuring the likes of Brisket Benedict and Fried Chicken Eggs offers sustenance for weekend warriors and urban tailgaters alike.

As Pioneer Square D&E continues to manage a safe and sustainable environment for guests and staff, proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required for dine-in guests. Those visiting are now required to show proof of vaccination (a digital copy of a card is acceptable), or a negative COVID-19 test result, taken within the last 48-hours. Masks indoors are also required while moving about the restaurant.

The restaurant is located at 314 2nd Avenue South in Seattle. Find menus, directions, hours and more at pioneersquarede.com and @PioneerSquareDE on Instagram and Facebook.
