Peace Vans Rolls Out 2021 Fleet + New Programs to Support Safe Travel

Peace Vans, the premier Pacific Northwest provider of van vacations, announces a series of new and adapted offerings for the coming travel season. Road trippers will find discounts on long term rentals, adventure school curriculum and an enhanced collection of privately owned, remote campsites.

“As more Americans took to the highways to vacation last year, the RV and camper industry showed real innovation,” said Peace Vans Owner Harley Sitner. “Road trips will continue to take center stage in 2021, we are thrilled to share these magical van vacation experiences with both returning and first-time customers – and to watch the industry grow alongside this business. It’s been an honor to be part of the dawn of the rental van movement, and we’re excited for a record-breaking year.”

With a fleet of 20 vans that range from modern Mercedes with custom pop-top to fully restored vintage vehicles, Peace Vans has adopted several programs and amenities to create a “home away from home” and meet today’s safe traveler.

Three new programs and offerings to note for this travel season include:

  • Adventure School is an outdoor learning curriculum that facilitates hands-on education on the road. Offline worksheets and demonstrations provided show real world skills, ranging from knot tying to stargazing. The family-friendly program, which aims to make the outdoors accessible and inclusive, was developed by Peace Van’s own Jess Harms, who brings both a degree in early childhood development as well as four years of #Vanlife and road-tripping know-how. Renters get access to digital copy of the curriculum and a printed copy upon request.

  • Extended Travel appeals to many hitting the road this year. Peace Vans supports these extended vacations with a 10 percent discount for trips that last more than 12 nights. Work from the road or head south for a one-way drop off, with locations in San Francisco and Southern California.

  • Access to Private Campsites and Local Intel for Secret Spots. While Washington’s Olympic Peninsula remains the most visited destination for the vans, the team at Peace Vans knows the best, most remote spots for privacy and space. This year, Peace Vans is investing in additional private campsites in destinations like the North Cascades and Hood Canal to offer secluded, scenic and safe sites that are bookable exclusively for customers. For those working from the van, the team also tracks sites with access to Wi-Fi. New this year is the ability to rent a mobile hot-spot to grab the necessary Wi-Fi, whether kids need to jump into class, or parents need to check in with the office.

Before entering the rental fleet, all vintage Peace Vans vehicles receive at least $25,000 in upgrades and restoration work. The season’s fleet provides a choice of fully restored Volkswagen Vanagons, Modern Mercedes Metris Campers, or the all-electric vintage Volkswagen Bus, now only available for in-city, multi-day adventures. Offering 20 percent more cubic space than other vans in the lineup, the reliable vintage Vanagons receive upgrades like modern motors, automatic transmission and three-point harness seatbelts, making them ideal for families – these vans a true joy to drive and create a one-of-a-kind vacation experience. As the official outdoor vehicle partner for Mercedes, Peace Vans recently launched the first of its kind Mercedes Metris custom pop-top camper in 2019. Customers who enjoy renting Mercedes vans typically end up owning one of these vehicles from Peace Vans Modern, Peace Vans’ sister business.

Each van – modern and vintage – is also outfitted with treasured Seattle finds and hand-picked camping accessories from leading brands; including Firefly Kitchens flavored salts and Rumpl brand blankets. All vans are designed for renters to stop in and hit the road – no need to pack anything other than clothes and food. All vans come with new built-in refrigerators, heaters for shoulder season camping and new Lithium-ion battery systems for powering cameras, phones, devices and camping accessories. Having surpassed nearly 1,000 renters and 10,000 rental nights since its inception, Peace Vans Rentals continues to create trips of a lifetime for travelers.
