During the month of April, Hood Canal oysters are at their peak. The team at Alderbrook Resort & Spa  introduces a lineup of tasty, artistic and adventurous ways to enjoy these beautiful bivalves. With many programs led by Chef Sara Harvey, an oyster farmer herself, monthly happenings include Meet the Farmer happy hours, shell painting for kids, and scenic cruises along the canal.

Plan ahead for these oyster programs in April to celebrate the Pacific Northwest at its finest:

Oyster Shell Painting: Stretch your artistic abilities with oyster shell painting Thursday-Mondays at Union City Market.

Beach Walk: Soak in a guided beach walk at low tide to learn more about the Hood Canal area and Alderbrook’s shellfish farm.

Oyster BBQ: Enjoy oysters fresh off the grill while you hear the chef talk about various oyster preparations. Thursdays from 4pm–5pm on the patio.

Meet your Farmer Reception: Take part in a special opportunity with chef Sara Harvey where local shellfish farmers shuck and talk about oysters. Fridays at 5pm at the Drinkery located in the main lobby.

Canal Cookout: Taste authentic Pacific Northwest fare through this interactive beach-side feast. April 20 at Hook & Fork at Union City Market, tickets can be purchased here.

Le Coin Takeover: Join the team of Le Coin as they host a takeover at Hook & Fork at Union City Market on April 19 and prepare seasonally inspired oyster offerings.
