Holiday Events in the Open Sea Air on Whidbey and Camano Islands

 

Festive events aplenty will take place on Whidbey and Camano Islands, most in the open sea air. Revel in the holiday spirit outside an iconic lighthouse, throw it back with a variety of small town holiday parades and support local makers while picking up one of a kind delights for loved ones. Make a weekend of it and bring home a tree from u-cut spots like a Knot in Thyme or Good Boy Farms.  Read on for the low down on these holiday happenings.

  • December 4, 4 -7 p.m. Head to Whidbey Island, bundle up and get to Fort Casey State Park on Whidbey Island for “Light Up Your Holiday” at Admiralty Head Lighthouse. This all-outdoor evening event includes activities like campfires to roast marshmallows and chestnuts, Christmas carolers, children’s games, and activities.

  • December 4 at 4:30 p.m. The Greening of Coupeville welcomes the holidays to this seaside town in true small-town fashion. The parade follows the decorated downtown to Cook’s Corner Park for a tree-lighting and all the holiday cheer fit for the season.

  • Also on December 4 on the north end of Whidbey Island, the seaside town of Oak Harbor will celebrate its “Home for the Holidays” event with an annual Santa Cruise and Tree Lighting. Santa will cruise down Bayshore Drive then Pioneer Way and park between Dock Street and the Harborside Village Mall for you to drive by, wave and say hi to Santa and his friends. The Christmas Tree downtown will light up at 5pm.

  • Kristoferson Farm on Camano Island the the spot for merrymaking. On December 5, join the Wreathmaking Workshop to create a locally-grown, hand-crafted doorstep adornment. Click here for a link to tickets. Don’t miss Santa Claus at the Farm Stand on December 4. 12pm - 3pm. Share holiday hopes, pose for photos and shop the farm stand stocked with holiday wreaths made fresh from the forest, baked goods, wine, cheese, and gifts.

  • At Country Christmas at the fairgrounds in Langley on December 3-5., find a unique holiday boutique of handcrafted gifts, art, and collectibles from local artists and vendors. Sales will help support local merchants while also raising funds for the Island County Fair Association, earmarked for scholarships and local youth.
