Four Things to Love in February

Four-legged love, a PNW scavenger hunt for blown glass, or new ways to enjoy that perfect glass of Washington red with friends – there is so much to love in the month of February. Below, find a variety of getaway ideas, indulgent treats and special events to carry us through the coming month and beyond.

Four-Legged Love at Alderbrook Resort & Spa . Celebrate love of all kinds with new experiences and packages at Alderbrook Resort & Spa. For the love of its furry friends, the resort is offering a CFO Retirement package to commemorate its recently retired Chief Feline Officers (who departed the property in December to relax in their golden years) and to welcome the two new recruits. Come meet the new kitties, enjoy a one-night package, some fun feline swag, and feel good that a portion of the proceeds goes to PAWS of Bremerton. The hotel also provides a Classic Champagne Kisses package for the traditionalists, or spoil the pup with the Fido on the Fjord package, which includes an indulgent canine cuisine served in room. 1. A Match Made in Heaven. Uneeda Burger unveils its new seasonal shake just in time for you to fall in love. Meet the salted caramel pretzel milkshake, the newest member of Uneeda’s hand-dipped, made to order goodies. This masterful marriage of salty and sweet blends vanilla ice cream with salted caramel, crumbled pretzels, and topped with more of the same salty and sweet goodness. Come for the treats alone, or enjoy with the classic burger, a seasonal elk or salmon burger, tempura mushrooms, and more. www.uneedaburger.com

  2. Wander to Wine Country. Known as "The Heart of Washington Wine Country," the Tri-Cities region produces some of the finest wines in the world, thanks to the climate and geography of the area. Whether you’re with someone special or a gaggle of good friends, the Tri-Cities region’s wineries, restaurants, and outdoor recreation offer an ideal winter getaway. Join a glass fusing class at Barnard Griffin Winery or head to Goose Ridge Estate Winery & Vineyard for upcoming events like “Galentines Brunch” and “Get Banded” with permanent friendship bracelets on February 11. For more tasting opportunities, Kiona Vineyards and Hedges Family Estate are just a few of the world-class wineries nestled in the vineyards. A full listing of wineries and maps are available here. • The Coupeville Chocolate Walk on February 11 offers sweet treats and a chance to get to know the shops of this quaint seaside town. Stroll Coupeville’s historic Front Street in search of mouth-watering chocolate treats from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy local restaurants with authentic Italian Fare at Ciao or Penn Cove mussels at Front Street Grill before settling in at one of the town’s cozy inns or local hotels.

  •  Plan a weekend getaway to join the Northwest Glass Quest, February 17-26. In its 12th year, the greatest treasure hunt in the Pacific Northwest is taking place in Stanwood and Camano Island.
