Inside Kyle MacLachlan’s Wine Takeover at La Loba at 1 Hotel Seattle
Actor. Vintner. Northwest native. Over the weekend, Golden Globe-winning actor Kyle MacLachlan—best known for iconic roles in Twin Peaks, Sex and the City, Portlandia, Overcompensating and Dune—brought his acclaimed Washington wine label, Pursued by Bear, to La Loba at 1 Hotel Seattle for a one-night-only experience.
As guest sommelier, MacLachlan moved through the dining room pouring wine tableside, sharing personal stories behind each vintage, and engaging with guests in an intimate, joy-filled setting. From surprise toasts to signed bottles and photo ops with the actor himself, it was a night where Hollywood met hospitality—with a meaningful local impact.
Throughout July, 15% of all Pursued by Bear wine sales at La Loba will benefit global humanitarian organization Save the Children, supporting youth education programs in MacLachlan’s hometown region of Yakima and across rural Washington.
The event reflects 1 Hotel’s ongoing mission to foster community connection and environmental and social impact through thoughtful partnerships and purpose-driven hospitality.
Save the Children has worked in Washington’s rural communities since 2008, delivering early learning programs and partnering with school districts, community-based organizations, families, and tribal organizations to close the education equity gap. In 2024 alone, they supported more than 77,000 children in Washington State with educational programs, including kids in Yakima County and in Grays Harbor, Jefferson, and Pacific Counties as well as the Quinault Nation. In Central Washington, 91% of 3-year-olds and 90% of 5-year-olds enrolled in Save the Children’s Early Steps learning program for one year reached vocabulary acquisition benchmarks—proof that these efforts are working.
