Connection Through Music: Pacific Place Hosts Virtual Happy Hour with Local Musicians
As Seattle stays home to wait out the current health crisis, the team at Pacific Place is offering a virtual hug, and way to mark the end of the work (at home) day with live music performances. Each evening, Monday through Friday at 5 p.m., tune into the Pacific Place Facebook (Live) and Instagram (IGTV) channels for a one-hour long, happy hour serenade from local artists.
The program had a soft launch last week, starting with Billy Brandt Thursday, Champagne Sunday on Friday and Sundae and Mr. Goessl on Monday. These are accessible at any time on the Pacific Place Facebook page. Coming up this week:
Tuesday, March 24, Jen Ayers, a cabaret-style performance from this local “vocal dynamo with a throat of gold”
Wednesday, March 25, Ben Mish, Seattle musician and artists known for his work with popular Seattle band, Left Hand Smoke
Thursday, March 26, RL Heyer, known for his guitar prowess, will perform with vocals as well.
Friday, March 27, alt-country music duo, The W Lovers will perform an upbeat set.
*More artists will be added soon and offered on a daily basis for the next few weeks.
All performances will remain in the social media pages, for those who can’t catch the show live. In a further effort to connect the community through music, the team at Pacific Place recently launched its own Spotify page (search PacificPlaceSeattle), and curated a variety of applicable playlists:
Breathe In offers relaxing, meditative tunes.
Virtual Hug provides upbeat and supportive songs.
Six Feet, an homage to social distancing
Happy at Home, a sampling for those working, schooling, and let’s face it – doing everything – at home.
*Note the center is temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, the parking garage remains open. For further details visit this link.
