Pop-in for a Pop-up, New Classes and Summer Camps for Kids at The Works Seattle

 
 

On the heels of a spring expansion into its flagship space, The Works Seattle continues to roll out new classes and programs in line with its mission to provide a place for community, conversation and creation. Coming up this summer, find a variety of classes to feed your passion, pop-in for a Saturday pop-up event or find kids programs to keep the younger set engaged until fall.

New Classes added, including Learn the Art of Intuitive Tarot Reading (June 20)  Make Your Own Vegetable Tanned Leather Pet Collar (July 28) DIY Apothecary (August 7). These new additions join a vibrant range of classes. The online calendar provides a snapshot of offerings and reservation information.  Can’t decide or simply can’t get enough?  A new Pop-Up at The Works Seattle series is offered select Saturdays and weekdays. The community is welcome to drop-in for sampling and mini-maker sessions featuring a variety of creative, locally owned businesses.

·         Coming up July 15 from 10a-1p, sample a pour over from Onda Origins, a company who is all about knowing your farmer (even if they’re in South America or Africa), indulge in farm-to-table pastries from Salmonberry Goods, bakers who source nearly all of their ingredients from local farmers or stamp your own produce bag The Preserve Shop, a woman-of-color owned small business focused on sustainability.

·         Coming up August 22 from 6p-8p, join Shannon Douglas of Honest Magazine and make your own colorful tea towel by hammering flowers on the towel to transfer their colors and shapes to fabric. While you’re getting creative ChocolateSpiel will be on hand offering samples of their small batch bean-to-bar chocolate, chocolate covered trail mix, and nut butters.

 Introducing Kids at The Works, a new series of kid friendly courses the entire family can experience. Classes include Solar System Story Time and Art (July 14) Paint a Harry Potter Bookmark (July 14) Wildflower Seed Bombs (July 25) Mason Jar Terrarium (August 1) Paper Mosaic Art (August 10) and more workshops coming soon.  Parents are encouraged to drop off their child or join in on the fun. Kids ages six through twelve are welcome depending on the class.  A perfect option to keep growing minds active all summer long.
